Clothing & General Sewing



Machine I (evening)

Limit: 6 students per class.

Due to the immense popularity of this class, we ask that you call to check and see if the class you wish to take still have space available before signing up.

1/2 yard cotton fabric (no stripes, plaids or checks)

Learn the fundamentals of using a sewing machine while making a simple throw pillow. No sewing experience is necessary. Sewing machines available or bring your own, start on the right foot. Choose from the following dates.

Beginner’s Basic Alterations Class

Supply List:
- Something to be altered (optional but recommended)
- Tailor’s chalk
- 1 box straight pins
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- Ruler

This class will introduce you to the world of altering your own personal clothing. Learn how to do your own alterations. Save money! Skills learned will include shortening and lengthening hems or sleeves, and taking something in. Learn how to fit your clothing to your body. Students are welcome to bring in their own clothes that need altering.

Supply List: 
- 1 to 3 yard of fabric (depending on your   size)

Make a design in your 6D Suite software and then sew it out on your embroidery machine (your option) This class requires bringing your machine and laptop with a transfer device.

Silk Hand Embroidery

Register Online

Learn the art of creating beautiful embroidery with silk ribbon. The project is a pretty case to hold your pen in your purse.

    Monday, March 23  (6:00pm – 8:30pm)


includes all fabric pre drawn with pattern, silk ribbons, embroidery floss and sewing needles. 

Student needs to supply hoop, embroidery scissors and thimble if you use one.

Kid’s Tote Bag Class

Supply List:
- ½ yard outer fabric
- ½ yard lining fabric
- Handles (can be chain, rope, fabric, or premade handles- be creative!)
- Straight pins
- Scissors

Choose your own personal fabric and create your own tote bag for school or play. Learn how to make a bag that is both fashionable and functional! Great for kids ages 8 and up, no sewing experience necessary.

Quilting

 


Embroidered Whole Cloth Quilt 2015

Register Online

Use your embroidery machine to make an entire quilt in your 8 inch hoop. The quilting was digitized by Master Quilter, Sharon Schambers. Quilt can be a Lap quilt or a wall hanging.

  Machine requirements: 8” embroidery field

  Machine must have the following hoops:
         240mm x 150mm
         360mm x 150mm
  and 200mm x 200mm.


  Wednesdays, 2/11, 3/11, 4/8, 5/13, 6/10  (6:00 – 9:00pm)

Surface Embellished Pillow

In this class you will learn how to add decorative embellishments to a crazy patch pillow top. The crazy patch is supplied to you in the kit fee. You bring decorative embroidery threads to create the masterpiece.

New Pieced Block of the Month - Quilt Blocks and Appliqué

This BOM program will have the beginner and the intermediate quilter piecing beautiful blocks combined with machine appliqué. This is a real stunner.

Class Fee $ 20 a month for pattern and instructions

Class dates are as follows: the second Monday of each month for 12 months:

        Mondays:
        2/9, 3/9, 4/13, 5/11, 6/8, 7/13, 8/10, 9/14, 10/12, 11/9, 12/14, 1/11.

Take this orientation class to get acquainted with our Pfaff Power Quilter 3.  After taking the orientation class you can sign up for rental time to quilt your own quilts.
